Understanding times & seasons

For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1 NLT Just as the farmer has his planting season and harvesting season and understands timing for all his crops well enough for those crops to yield profitably for him, so does every believer have his times and seasons and for each believer, these times and seasons may differ. For instance, a professional farmer understands that there are crops that do better in the rainy season while some other crops will do better during the dry season and so if he takes a crop that does better during the dry season and plants it in the rainy season, he will only be setting himself up for losses/failure so he waits/prepares for the planting season of each crop before he plants it. He also pays keen attention to his harvest season as for every crop there is a harvest season (after the crop has gone through it's waiting/nurturing/maturity phase) and prepares his tools for harvest ahead of the harvest season so ...

Strength for evil days!

If thou faint in the day of adversity, Thy strength is small. Proverbs 24:10 KJV Truth is, we do not have the capacity to be strong on our own which is why the Apostle Paul tells us in Ephesians 6:10 to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Our strength can only be found in the Lord who on His own is strength personified and in the power of His might, now, the word “might” is taken from the word ischuos', and it conveys the picture of a very, very strong man, such as a bodybuilder or a mighty man with great muscular capabilities.  Now, the Apostle Paul applies this picture of a strong, muscular man, not to himself, but to God, the Apostle Paul simply pictures God as One who is able, mighty, and muscular. So we can simply say that the Apostle Paul was telling us to be strong in the Lord and in the powerful, outwardly demonstrated ability that works in us as a result of God’s great muscular ability that is working behind the scenes. Yes, God's great muscular abilit...

Make for me first!

But Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid! Go ahead and do just what you’ve said, but make a little bread for me first. Then use what’s left to prepare a meal for yourself and your son. 1 Kings 17:13 NLT The conversation the prophet Elijah had with the widow of zerephath in 1 Kings 17 is one that strikes me daily. I mean, God did tell the prophet that He had commanded a widow to provide for him and yet meeting her, Elijah had to lay a demand based on what God had said. Also, we realize that God didn't need her to have too much to command her to provide for His prophet, He just needed her to be one who was a ready vessel and despite her current state, God was going to use her anyway even in her lack and indebtedness. Now, sometimes you feel as though you don't have enough and can't meet the demands of the Father but yet He has made the demands; it is now very important for us to note that God always makes provisions for whatever He calls for/demands so He really doesn't n...

They that wait!

For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing. James 1:3‭-‬4 NLT Dear believer, I know it seems as though nothing is happening in/around your life right now but I am here to tell you that even though it seems that way, God is working. As a matter of fact, quite a number of things are happening within you as you wait and trust God. Truth is, God is more interested in making you than He is in giving you so even in this season where it seems as though nothing is happening/forthcoming, God is working to perfect it, He is making a man for Himself and your greatest testimony at the end of the day will really not be that God gave you but that God made a man for Himself. Just like David's journey, every part of the process, every scene is extremely important in your journey,  the times of being mocked to scorn, the times of being plotted against,...

Our Lord's command for Holiness

But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:15‭-‬16 NLT Dear believer, Do you know that the command in scriptures to be holy is not one to be negotiated? God clearly told the Israelites in Leviticus 19:1 that they must be holy for He is Holy and He went ahead to lay further instructions regarding things they were restricted from doing by reason of their consecration to Him. The word for holy in Hebrew is “qadash,” which means to be sanctified, consecrated, and dedicated/to be separated from the world and worldliness.  Holiness is an instruction given to the believer as a key part in his devotion to the Lord and the believer that will fulfill destiny must be one given to the command of Holiness (amongst many other commands of our dear Lord) as there are lots of things you can not enter into in God without this in place. "Just as He is, so are we in this world"! Our God...

Building to last!

“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.” Matthew 7:24‭-‬27 NLT I have seen, heard of and read of a lot of believers who once were on fire for the Lord but right now are nowhere to be found in God's agenda/His presence. I have also seen, heard of and read of a much greater number of believers who once loved the Lord dearly who were powerful weapons in the Lord's hands who now still yet doing "ministry" but whose lives do not speak/testify of the person of Jesus. Dear believer, what foundation are you building on? What structures have you set in pl...
