Strength for evil days!

If thou faint in the day of adversity, Thy strength is small.
Proverbs 24:10 KJV

Truth is, we do not have the capacity to be strong on our own which is why the Apostle Paul tells us in Ephesians 6:10 to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

Our strength can only be found in the Lord who on His own is strength personified and in the power of His might, now, the word “might” is taken from the word ischuos', and it conveys the picture of a very, very strong man, such as a bodybuilder or a mighty man with great muscular capabilities.

Now, the Apostle Paul applies this picture of a strong, muscular man, not to himself, but to God, the Apostle Paul simply pictures God as One who is able, mighty, and muscular.

So we can simply say that the Apostle Paul was telling us to be strong in the Lord and in the powerful, outwardly demonstrated ability that works in us as a result of God’s great muscular ability that is working behind the scenes.

Yes, God's great muscular ability works in you both to will and to do and this is why the Apostle also tells us in Philippians 4:13 that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us which also implies that we can withstand the wiles of the devil and stand in the day of adversity through Christ who gives us inner strength and ability.

We see in the latter part of that Ephesians 6 the Apostle telling us further to put on the whole armor of God of which he went further to list all 6 armors yet also adding that we must pray in the spirit always and stay alert and persistent in intercession.

Now, no believer can stand in evil days, withstand the wiles of the devil on his own as we weren't created to function independent of God.

At this phase of your life and destiny, where it seems as though there's so much contention against your life and destiny, so many distractions, battles and challenges, the only place you can find strength is inside of God.

Stay!
Stay with Him in His word much more than ever before!
Stay with Him in the place of prayers much more than ever before!
Commune much more than ever before!
Fellowship with Him and with the brethren much more than ever before!
Surround yourself with Spirit-filled believers who are also spending much more time with the Lord in the word and prayers/communion/fellowship!
Get fused into Him as hand and glove and watch Him strengthen you to pull through.

His grace is sufficient for you!
Rest in His great ability!

The peace and grace of our dear Lord be multiplied unto you!
