Make for me first!
But Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid! Go ahead and do just what you’ve said, but make a little bread for me first. Then use what’s left to prepare a meal for yourself and your son.
1 Kings 17:13 NLT
The conversation the prophet Elijah had with the widow of zerephath in 1 Kings 17 is one that strikes me daily.
I mean, God did tell the prophet that He had commanded a widow to provide for him and yet meeting her, Elijah had to lay a demand based on what God had said.
Also, we realize that God didn't need her to have too much to command her to provide for His prophet, He just needed her to be one who was a ready vessel and despite her current state, God was going to use her anyway even in her lack and indebtedness.
Now, sometimes you feel as though you don't have enough and can't meet the demands of the Father but yet He has made the demands; it is now very important for us to note that God always makes provisions for whatever He calls for/demands so He really doesn't need you to figure it out, all He needs for you is to be a ready vessel and trust Him completely and yes sometimes you might even need to go borrow vessels/stretch yourself beyond your normal elastic limit.
Yes! You are currently in a season where God is laying certain demands and you don't feel qualified enough, you don't feel like you have enough capacity to meet the demands, you feel so overburdened with your challenges that you feel like God should be more concerned about bringing you out of them now than laying demands on you and yes He is but in you fulfilling those demands are your answers/testimonies/miracles.
Just like that widow who didn't have enough but yet had to meet up with the demands of God's prophet, God is saying to you today "make for me first".
We see the latter part of that scripture, how that after she obeyed that instruction, God came through for her and they had more than enough to pay off their debt and also take care of themselves.
Actually, in God's design, we are not to be chasing the answers to our prayers but to be seeking first/chasing His kingdom and then He adds to us everything we need (Matthew 6:33).
It really doesn't matter what it is you are trusting the Lord for, going through currently or what point you currently are on the road to destiny, the Father in His bid to help you and cause to come forth your miracles desires that you focus on His own/do His own first and watch Him put everything in place for you/watch Him arrange your life.
Receive grace to make for Him first!
The peace and grace of our dear Lord be multiplied unto you!
