The spirit of rebellion

Joel 2:7-8 {NKJV}

"They run like mighty men,

They climb the wall like men of war;
Every one marches in formation,
And they do not break ranks.
They do not push one another;
Every one marches in his own [a]column.
Though they lunge between the weapons,
They are not [bcut down."

Rebellion can simply be defined as opposition to authority, either to God directly or to those He has placed over us.
2 Thessalonians 3:16 clearly tells us that God is a God of order, which implies that whatever service or sacrifice that will be acceptable unto God must be rendered in order/obedience to God and authorities He has placed over us.

Our anchor text gives us a very interesting character trait of the army that God is raising in this end time; they march in formation and do not break their ranks, they do not push one another as everyone marches in his own column.

Now, this communicates the idea of order, organization and a united front for the body.
An unbroken rank also suggests the army's unwavering resolve and determination to accomplish their mission and do so in order and unity.

However, satan hates authority and always seeks to distort every order that God has put in place, so wherever you see rebellion or anything anti-order, that right there is the devil.

One out of many ways to identify the devil in the gathering of believers is rebellion.

It is very important to note that rebellion is a fruit that can only be dealt with from its root so until we understand the root, we really cannot deal with rebellion.
It is also important to know that whatever you do consistently, a spirit takes over and begins to power/sponsor it, so rebellion can graduate from being a one-time act to a spirit that follows a man everywhere he goes if not properly dealt with, and its root is never in God but always in the devil.

Rebellion begins with a stubborn, selfish and prideful spirit; a decision not to submit to God and the authorities He has placed over us.

1 Samuel 15:23 clearly tells us that rebellion is just as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness as iniquity and idolatry.

Rebellion begins with rejecting God's word and rejecting the authority He has placed over us.
We can find the first act of rebellion on earth in the book of Genesis with Adam and Eve, however, the very first act of rebellion existed in the devil when he rebelled against God in heaven, and we see this beginning with a desire to be like God.

When you choose to rebel against God or authorities He has placed over you, you have switched sides from being on God's side to be on the devil's side as rebellion is sponsored by the spirit of witchcraft.

Rebellion always begins with a desire to exalt yourself above measure (pride) and this is most certainly not of God.

One of the proofs that you are truly on God's side is that you are truly submitted under authority!

Next week, we will be looking at the root of rebellion, and I pray that this study delivers you from that prideful spirit seeking to cause you to rebel and distort God's order and so steal from you!

I declare that you will not become an access point for the devil into the church, and you will not use your own hands to destroy God's plan for your life!

Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty and so I declare you liberated from that demonic siege holding you bound in rebellion right now!

I wage war against the kingdom of darkness that has chosen to cut short your journey through that sinful spirit of rebellion!

All that you may have lost through the sin of rebellion is hereby restored unto you right now!

The peace and Grace of our dear Lord be multiplied unto you!
AMEN!
