Honoring God with your life as a minister (Part 1)

Firstly, it is important to note that a minister is simply a person who serves God and His people.

Whether in the order of Joshua/Elisha, Timothy, Apostle Paul or even Moses, the core of every minister is service to God and His people.

Every minister is a representative of the one he works for just as the minister for Education represents the government of that territory in educational matters, so do you represent God in that calling wherewith He has called you.

Whether you are called to function in the capacity of a prophet, a teacher, an evangelist, an apostle, a pastor or the ministry of helps (intercessors, ushers, protocols, sanctuary keepers, and all manner of stewardship), it is important that you understand that you have been called into a Holy calling and you have a mandate to fulfill that unique role in that appointed place.

Having understood that you are a representative of Christ here on the earth, representing Him well is not negotiable but a priority.

The Apostle Paul clearly tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:20 that we, as believers are Christ's representatives here on the earth and Psalm 145:17 clearly tells us that God, who we represent here on earth is righteous in all His ways and kind in all His deeds.

The Greek word for righteous is dikaioo, which implies to be made righteous/justified by the Lord, cleared of all charges (punishment) related to their sins.

This righteousness is a state that man can only be brought into at the point of new - birth, however, it takes a consciousness of that state and intentional living to enjoy all that state has to offer.

As a believer, you are not of this world, though in this world, but not of this world so the standards that guard your life must be God's standards and not the standards of this world.

You must lead a life that is worthy of that calling by pursuing righteous living daily in your walk with God.
Do not make decisions that are contrary to God's plans and instructions for your life but walk consistently in alignment with His will at all times, making decisions that honor Him daily.

The goal is to honor God in all that you think, say, hear and do.

The peace and grace of our dear Lord be multiplied unto you!
