The Lord's Day
"But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think..."
NLT
An understanding of times and seasons is one of the Spiritual insights every believer must have as time and season is a very crucial part of the believer's journey.
Scriptures clearly inform us in Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 that there is a time for everything and a season for every activity as far as the earth is concerned and we see how the Lord Himself confirms this reality in Genesis 8:22; stating clearly to us that as long as the earth remains, seedtime and harvest will not cease and neither will day and night as well as the summer and winter and even to cold and heat.
God simply was assuring us that everything on the earth (every happening, every activity) will have its own time and no activity will eat into the time nor season of the other as long as there is proper alignment.
Now, this simply contradicts the common statement among believers that God is yet to do that which He has said He will do or that maybe God has changed His mind.
Truth is, everything God will do, He has done and if He told you He will do it, it simply means it is already a finished work in the realm of the Spirit and all He needs you to do is to align yourself in order for you to enter into it.
Now, when we talk about entering into, obtaining/receiving the promises of God as inter-changeably used in scriptures, they simply first establish the existence of a thing, for instance, can you enter into a house that does not exist? Can you receive a gift that does not exist? This fact simply tells us that the promises of God to us are in existence i.e. God is not going to start creating that job, that spouse, that house, that baby for you; they exist in the realm of the Spirit, so all God needs us to do is to align ourselves/partner with Him in order to bring them into manifestation in the realm of the physical i.e, in order for us to enter into them at His said/appointed time.
Now, even with the existence of that building we used as our example, intentional motion is needed for you to enter into that house and even beyond that, access to the entrance or a connection with someone who owns the house is also required so it can be opened for you.
So also even with the existence of that gift, an intentional motion of stretching out your hands to receive it and even before which, a willingness to receive it is required (so as also a willingness to enter into that house).
In willingness lies an ability and capacity as you first have to be willing to do/receive a thing before you even begin to ask/discern what you need to do to receive it or the steps you need to take to accomplish it.
Now to our anchor text, the Apostle clearly established that God is not in time!
This means simply that every day is God's Day but whether or not that day becomes your own day of manifestation is your timing spiritually for that thing, your alignment and partnership with the Father, your readiness and willingness to enter into/receive that thing.
Isaiah 1:19
"If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:".
KJV
Indeed, every day is the Lord's Day but the questions you need to ask Him even as you read this right now are:
1. This is your day Lord and I know it, but what is this day for in my life according to your timing? i.e what am I to be doing at this time? (Is it seedtime, or harvest time? is it preparation time, or manifestation time? is it labor time or rest time?)
2. Where am I to be on this day according to your allocation?
After intentionally seeking answers to these questions, more questions certainly would well up in your spirit and heart but don't worry yourself if you don't receive answers to them right now, start from somewhere and keep seeking but I tell you; even in God's silence, is a response.
To someone reading this right now, according to God's timing for your life, this is His day of preparing you for that which He has prepared for you so stop pursuing the promise and start pursuing God (growing to become more like Him and all that He would have you be in His agenda).
That promise is a finished work, your willingness, alignment/partnership with the Lord is what is needed at this time.
Now, it is very important for you to understand that the Lord is not calling you to call forth what does not already exist in Him (He called forth light in Genesis 1:3 and light responded immediately because God is light and in Him is all light).
Like we established earlier, the promise exists, and He showed you from its finished state, but you need to discern what day it is in the Lord's agenda for your life.
For someone reading this right now, the Lord is saying to you, "this is my day to strengthen your faith in order for you to journey into my plan for your life".
"At the appointed time, I the Lord will make it happen for I make all things beautiful in its own time and I make good my promises!"
His words do not fall to the ground, men just don't stay true to the journey and so miss it on their day of visitation and manifestation.
God is not slow to keeping His promises, He wants to mature you, He wants you to enter into it such that you would receive all that is required to sustain it.
King David was anointed king but did not ascend the throne immediately (1 Samuel 17), he journeyed through process, battles and victories before ascending the throne and we see how that every single battle he fought was a required track record for his kingship in Israel.
God is much more interested in preparing/making you He will put in you, the capacity, enablement/empowerment to sustain that which He is bringing you into.
Every day is God's Day!
Every season is God's season!
Every hour is the hour of the Lord!
Align yourself and get what you must from each day and watch Him usher you into your prepared place by a mighty hand!
Let your faith come alive!
Believe that indeed He is and He is a rewarder of they that diligently seek Him!
The peace and grace of our dear Lord be multiplied unto you!
Amen!
